WHAT IS PROFINET?

PROFINET is an open Industrial Ethernet communication technology used in automation. It enables compatible PLCs, remote I/O, drives and other industrial devices to exchange control and operating data.

The switch connects Ethernet devices and forwards their traffic. Its PROFINET traffic-prioritization feature helps give automation traffic priority in supported applications.
